The card I am showing has a birthday sentiment on it, but of course, it would be great for a number of occasions. As I’ve mentioned before, most of the retro flowers I draw are made up in my little mind 🙂
I like to start with the stems first; it allows me to imagine the spacing and size of my flowers. Totally straight stems look pretty cool, too, so if you choose, try drawing the stems with a ruler. You may want to lightly sketch your design in pencil, but since these are ‘made-up” flowers, it’s almost mistake-proof. If you mess up while drawing in ink, just add more petals or dots, or whatever!
I used my Stampin’ Up Blends markers. (I am not a rep, but you can easily find them on any Stampin’ Up Demonstrator site). Truly, any medium-nib marker or brush marker would be perfect.
I start with my main flower (usually the biggest one) and then do the smaller flowers in succession. You can just go crazy drawing the petals with dots, smaller flowers, stripes, etc. Finally, I drew in some crazy little leaves.
I used my Tombow Fudenosuke Fude Brush Pen to letter the sentiment. Then I just layered my panel on to a black-on-white card base. Easy Peasy 🙂
