So, how many of you make a mistake when cardmaking? I know that I am always making a mistake (or two or three) but refuse to toss the project, so I try to find a way to fix it or re-incorporate it into a new card. The projects I am featuring today are un-“mistake”-able. In other words, these cards are made from my mistakes. 🙂
Here’s mistake card number one:
The inks I used for all three cards are from Catherine Pooler’s Life of the Party Collection. Plus, of course, my all-time-go-to ink, Midnight.
First, mask a diagonal, on a white card panel with Purple Tape and blend the inks on the left half. After that, stamp the BFF Background Stamp in Midnight. Then—mistake number one—I had taped off my design in a slightly askew manner, thus making it necessary to cut the entire middle of the card from corner to corner off. This created one blended corner and one black and white corner, which is adhered to a Midnight card panel. Use Circle Dies to create the framed sentiment. The sentiment is from the Focus on the Good Stamp Set and adhered with some dimensional adhesive foam. A few rhinestones or sequins can be added.
Here’s card number two:
Start this card pretty much the same way as card number one, except use the Kaleidoscope Background Stamp. Then came my mistake – I smudged some spots in the blended area. So from a second white panel stamped with just the background stamp (btw, that layer was also a mistake which is why I used it to fix this card), I cut and adhered two of the patterns out to cover the smudges on my first panel. (You still with me?) 🙂
On Midnight cardstock, white-heat-embossed the sentiment from A Note of Thanks Stamp Set, trim it down to fit the panel, adhere it with dimensional adhesive foam and add a few rhinestones.
And here we have card number three:
Awww… You’ve heard it all before… Blend, stamp, smear and smudge. Then just cut out the remainder of the pattern in a single, amazingly un-smudged row and adhere it to a white card panel. The black layer is made the Postage Die. Stamp the sentiment from the Focus on the Good Stamp Set and add a few rhinestones.
Thanks so much for hanging out with me!
