Last night, I pulled out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, because I realized I haven’t used them in a few weeks. They are great for watercolor effects! I also wanted to play with my SSS Foral Bliss stamp set a little more. So I combined the two to make another card 🙂
First, I stamped the large floral stamp onto white cardstock using Ranger Pigment Ink in Black Tie. You can heat-set this so it will dry faster. This ink is permanent and waterproof. Then I did some “watercoloring” with my zig markers.
I used a couple of methods for blending. One method is to spray a little water (I keep a Tim Holtz Sprayer close by) onto a stamp block and dip your Zig marker into the little puddle of water. The other method was to use my Zig Detail Water Brush directly on the image. After I let that dry, I applied PICO Embellisher to the flower centers and petals. That will take a little while to dry. Do not heat-dry… It will crack! Then I cut the entire image out with Precision Scissors.
For the card base, I layered black cardstock onto a white base. The I trimmed a paper from My Mind’s Eye Woodgrain Paper Pack and layered that on top. I cut a smaller black piece (I “eyed” the cut) and heat-embossed a white sentiment onto it, which was layered on next. Finally, I adhered the floral image onto this multi-layered base.
I finished the card with black and white Enamel Accent dots.
