Rose Garden

I couldn’t resist playing with all of the items in the Kind of Batty Release by Catherine Pooler last week. It’s been so much fun mixing the sets and my stack of cards I’ve made from this bundle is getting a little high. 🙂

This card is from the Kind of Wonderful portion of the release. Today we’re using the Rose Garden and Hello Autumn stamp sets, along with the BFF Background stamp and the Kind of Wonderful Set.

The first thing is to stamp Catherine Pooler’s BFF Background Stamp on to white cardstock with Midnight Ink. Trim it down to make a border, as shown. You won’t use the whole pattern; Use scissors to cut along the pattern, then save the rest of the pattern for another project. Line it up on a white 3.75″ x 5″ cardstock panel, glue it and trim the ends off.

The foliage is layered stamps; a cool way to have dimensional-looking images. The steps-to-stamp are shown in the package. Here are the shades in which the layered flowers and leaves were stamped:

Rose: Seafoam, Skylight, Fiesta Blue, Daydream.

Small flower bunch: It’s a Girl, Rose Petals, Coral Cabana, Rockin’ Red, All That Jazz.

Leaves: Sweet Sixteen, Pixie Dust, Sugared Lavender, Flirty Fuschia.

I may have gone a little overboard with the flowers perhaps, 🙂 so stamp and die-cut (with the coordinating dies) the amount of flowers and leaves that you choose. These can be arranged and adhered along the border of the background pattern. Just for fun, pop up a few images with dimensional foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Kind Of Wonderful set. You can also add some bling like Studio Katia Sequins and the Nuvo Crystal Morning Dew Drops used here. The drops were placed on the leaves and in the center of the smaller flower bunches–You really don’t need that many. 🙂 Then just adhere it with or without a coordinating panel onto your card base.
