Happy June!
Today I’ve created jars of flowers, a kind of classic element that has been popular through the years.
I used Tim Holtz’ Flower Jar Stamps and Dies for this card.
The stamping part was easy. I just inked the sheet in Midnight and flipped the whole sheet up-side-down onto white cardstock. Then I colored the images with Arteza Real Brush Pens.
I taped each coordinating die to each image on the sheet with Purple Tape and ran the whole thing at once through my Sizzix Big Shot.
I collect the rigid plastic packaging from products I buy. I use these pieces for shaker cards and whenever I need clear rigid plastic, such as this card. I die cut two more jars from the plastic and set those aside.
Now on my top card panel, I taped down the Turkish Delight Stencil leaving space on the bottom of the layer. The pattern was blended with Stone Blue Ink. Below the stencil line, I blended Icing on the Cake Ink.
After removing the stencil, I adhered the flowers and jars. I had cut a slit in the mouth of each jar to insert the flowers, but first I cut off the bottom stems and glued them onto the jars so it looked like the flowers were actually floating in the jars. Then I adhered the little jar-cut, plastic pieces, which appeared that you are actually looking the glass. I tried to pick them up in the photo… it’s hard to see, but the actual results look very nice!
I stamped a sentiment onto a scallop-punched circle and popped it up with adhesive dimensional foam and added some twine “around” the jars. Oh, and of course, my fun little rhinestones 🙂
And here you go…
Have a great day!
