What’s fun about making cards is that you can combine all sorts of elements; ink, watercolor, crayons, pencils, stamps, drawing, lettering, calligraphy, embellishments and more. You can even turn it into something worth framing, which is something I like to do when making cards. You can turn it into a little piece of art.
Today’s “little piece of art” was made with Honey Bee Stamps Not Too Shabby stamp set.
But first I applied strokes of Prima Watercolor onto Fabriano Hot Press Watercolor Paper. (This paper is smooth and like cardstock; not textured like cold press.) I simply used a 3/4″ broad brush to stroke several colors of paint across this layer.
After drying time, I stamped my images and sentiment with Catherine Pooler’s Midnight Ink. I colored in the jar and flowers with Tombow’s Dual Brush Pens. The little star/heart near the sentiment was accented with Ranger’s Pink Gumball Enamel Accents. I applied Ranger’s Glossy Accents to the flowers for dimension. And then I added some highlighting to the jar with Nuvo’s Simply White Crystal Drops.
And there you go 🙂
Have a great day!
