I try to present all sorts of different art forms on this blog; cardmaking, lettering, drawing, watercolors, crafts and more, as well as organizing all your pretty, crafty stuff. Here is a not-so-new form…
Many of you may be aware of the journaling topic and many of you may not. There are SO MANY different ways a journal can be used. One of the many appeals of a journal is that you can make it fit into your life any way you want! Search the internet for countless ways to use one and to discover how a journal will fit your needs; as a planner, list-maker, birthday and event reminder, an art journal, scrapbook, photo book, poem book, Christmas list, to-do list, book and wine diary, personal diary and SO much more! I’m not a diary-keeper, but I have been keeping “list” notebooks and planners for years; long before it became a “thing.” However, with a journal, you can keep all your pages in one book!
I will be demonstrating my pages with Catherine Pooler’s NEW Canvo Bullet Journal. It has thick, dot-grid, numbered pages, a pretty cover and durable spiral binding. It can be acquired ala cart or with additional accessories including “journal stamps” and mini inks!
Today, I will show you my intro pages; the cover page (above), the index, and the “key” page. But, be sure to stay tuned for the next post, which will have a weekly layout and list-type pages, and I assure you, they won’t be as boring as they sound 🙂
Remember, YOU can put whatever is in YOUR brain onto your journal pages. This is merely how I keep MY brain-on-paper and have been doing so for a long time.
A journal benefits me because my little brain is always full of to-do’s, thoughts and ideas, that in order to clear it out, I write it all down. That way, in a slow or uninspired moment, I can check my notes and pick right back up.
Next post: Weekly layout and list-making 🙂
Be sure and tag me on Facebook and Instagram so I can see what YOU create. I’d love to see it!
