Here is yet another fabulous dimensional-looking stamp set by Sunny Studio! I just LOVE this line of stamps they offer! This one is Fruit Cocktail. I will need multiple Birthday cards next month, and this was a perfect place to start.
To create these cards, First cut a nice patterned strip of 5″ x 1″ paper such as Catherine Pooler’s Black Tie Gala Patterned Paper shown here and adhere it to a 5″ x 3.75″ white cardstock panel. (The second underlying panel is a black piece cut to 5.25″ x 4″ which will be layered onto a white card base).
The fruit is a multi-layered stamp set that you would start with the lightest color for each fruit and graduate to darker hues. Catherine Pooler’s Ink Pads were used for these cards. Of course, most brands of inks will do, but these are my favorite with which to work. The stem is Over Coffee, and the leaves were done in Green Tea and Eucalyptus. The fruit was stamped in these colors:
Apple: Polished, Rockin’ Red, Peppermint Scrub
Pear: Melon Ice, Garden Party, Grass Skirt
Peach: Tiki Torch, Tutti Frutti, Mandarin Spice
I used a set by My Favorite Things to make the little platform on which the fruits are sitting. And I am sorry…I tried my hardest to find these for you since they are a retired set, but if you want to try to track them down, look for My Favorite Things Oval Shadows. You may be able to even make the oval shadows yourself.
Die-cut the images and glue them to your panel, and then stamp your sentiment. There are several real cutesy ways to say Happy Birthday and other thoughts from this set 🙂
You may choose to add some rhinestones, twine or other embellishments. For my purposes, I was happy with the super-clean look of the cards. even though I was tempted…
Thank you SO much for hanging out with me today! I appreciate every one of you 💙
