Everything’s Rosy

February 6, 2019 by Nanette

I had fun with this stamp set from Sunny Studio! Plus I wanted to try the monotone/color technique that I’ve seen before on social media. I haven’t seen it done with gray ink, though. But, today we will!

This set is called Everything’s Rosy.

Start with a white cardstock panel, 5″ x 3/75″ and a strip, 5″ x 1.75″. Figure out the angle of your strip on the main panel and trim the ends off (You may choose to trim off the ends when you’ve finished stamping, too). Draw a diagonal pencil line to show you where you will extend your gray images which will eventually be hidden by the card strip.

Using Catherine Pooler’s Twilight Ink, stamp the “b” step of the flower and leaf images. Using temporary adhesive where it won’t be seen, lay a sheet of vellum over the panel. You will temporarily adhere your card strip, diagonally over the vellum and stamp your images in COLOR, using the vellum-covered gray images as a guide so that your color and gray images will be cohesive. The vellum, of course, protects your gray-stamped panel from the color ink.

The inks I used are listed below in pinks, reds, orange/yellows and greens. Each of the stamps are numbered 1a, 1b, etc. You would start with the lightest shade for stamp a, a mid shade for stamp b, and ending in the darkest shade for stamp c.

Layering Guide

Next, you will gently remove the vellum and fit your diagonal strip so that your flowers match up. Glue that down, and if you haven’t already, trim the overhanging ends of the strip.

Stamp your sentiment in Midnight Ink and while the ink is still wet, heat-emboss the sentiment with WOW Clear Embossing Powder. Add a few rhinestones, if you’d like and then layer it with a Midnight layer onto a white card base.

Thanks for hanging out with me today and have a great day!

Oh wow, that’s stunning! Love the black/white background with the beautiful flowers in the bright colors across the middle. Great design! 🙂
