Ellen Hutson Home & Hearth

I’m brand new to Ellen Hutson LLC, but have wanting to try her out. I’ve seen Ellen Hutson referenced frequently among my crafting peers, who have created some wonderful projects using her paper crafting essentials.

Today, I’m using Ellen Hutson’s Home & Hearth Die set. First of all, let me just say how thrilled I was to see how the dies are packaged. This die came in a durable poly-vinyl envelope with a magnetic sheet. How cool!

Today’s card is mostly just a cut & paste project using scrap cardstocks. I die-cut all of my pieces first. I colored in the rooftops and tree trunks with a brown marker and cut pieces of cardstock to fit behind each little house to fill in the windows and doors. I also outlined the doors and windows with a white Gelly Roll pen. Then I simply assembled the die-cuts onto some blue cardstock. The green hills were cut with Avery Elle Custom Dies, and the clouds were cut with Paper Smooches Cute Clouds die set. This combination of die-cuts can be arranged in a hundred ways 🙂

I stamped my sentiment onto one of the white clouds with Mama Elephant’s Mini Messages. I used Pico Embellisher on the star for a tiny bit of bling.

Finally, I adhered my completed panel onto a black-on-white card base.

I think this Home & Hearth Die Set would make great cards for Christmas, a “new home,” and a “welcome home.” I’m sure you can think of a few more 🙂
