Amber’s World with Watercolor and FREE PDF

Today’s post is a favorite from the past. The Amber’s World stamp set is simply stunning!

First, on a 3.75″ x 5″ watercolor paper panel, pencil in your horizontal wall line and the books. If you don’t feel comfortable drawing the books, I’ve created a printable PDF for you.

Print the PDF of the book line drawings from either the link or by clicking the photo below. (Do not attempt to simply print the picture, as the size will be off… Click the link or photo to open up the PDF, then print). You can print directly onto cardstock or watercolor paper. Then, either cut the images out or divide the sheet into four panels for use as the top layer(s).

After drawing or printing and cutting the books, paint the books, wall and counter top with watercolor. I am using the Altenew Palette.

Next, stamp, die-cut and paint your globe, tea cup and tiny flowers. The globe and tiny flowers are, of course, part of Catherine Pooler Amber’s World Stamp Set. The tea-cup stamp is from the Cuppa Tea stamp and die set.  

If you’ve printed and cut your books, glue them in place now. The globe and assembled flowers-in-teacup are mounted with dimensional foam tape.

Stamp the included sentiment in Midnight ink. Detail the images with a black fine-liner pen and add a little highlight with a white pen such as Sakura Decorese White Pen or Gelly Roll Pen. With denser shades of the watercolor, you can add shadows to the images and the sentiment. I also used Payne’s Gray to add shadows to the counter top and a few strokes of the white pen.

The second layer, 4″ x 5.25″, was colored to match by using Catherine Pooler’s Daydream Ink Pad direct-to-paper around the edges. Then the two layers were adhered to a white card base.
