I recently needed a quickie birthday card… Most of my cards lately are more of a feminine theme and I needed a card for a young male! This card could actually be for both, but at least it has no florals (my favorite) 🙂
I love the bold colors! I used Catherine Pooler’s Midnight, Royal Treatment, Eucalyptus and Daydream Inks. The colorful, smudged backgrounds and black, brush-stroke strip are from Simon Says Stamp’s Brush Stroke Messages Stamp Set, along with the sentiment.
The candles are stamped and die-cut from Sunny Studios Heartfelt Wished Stamp & Die Set. I keep my Sizzix Sidekick right at my table for those quick, little cuts. I colored the candles with a Tombow Dual Brush Pen and Spectrum Noir’s Aqua Markers, but any coloring medium that you prefer will work just fine.
For a quickie card, I think this turned out pretty good 🙂
