I’ll be honest with you… This is the first time I have used a stencil for card making. I have them. I like them. I’ve just never incorporated one into a design. And now, I’m here to tell you; I am a stencil convert. 🙂
Today, I used a butterfly stencil by Heidi Swapp. First I sponged Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pads onto a white card layer using the stencil. I arranged each butterfly different than the stencil layout to fit the panel I was working on, which measures 5″ x 3.75″. I used Ranger’s Blending Tools for the daubing, using and blending three Oxide Ink colors per butterfly.
I used Clear Irresistable Pico Embellisher to enhance the body of each butterfly, and then swept on some Wink of Stella Glitter Pen onto the wings.
The sentiment was stamped with Mama Elephant’s Mini Messages stamp set.
I placed random dots of Sunflower Ranger Enamel Accents and Carribean Ocean and Bubblegum Blush Nuvo Crystal Drops around the butterfly images.
I secured this panel onto a black-on-white card base.
Ta Da! 🙂
Have a great day!
