I have some juvenile birthdays coming up and I realized I had no cards already made for the younger generation. Thus, I am setting out to make some. 🙂
Today, I am making two cards with slight variations.
First I embossed two, white card panels; one with stars and one with dots.
I had some retired Balloon Animal stamps by Close to My Heart, which are no longer available, so I found some by Avery Elle and Hero Arts linked for you below. I wanted vivid ink, so I used Gina K. Designs ink pads, which I can always count on for bold colors. On a separate white panel, I stamped the animal balloon images with the GKD ink pad colors. I hand-cut each animal out and then glued a length of twine to the back of each animal, allowing several inches to dangle.
I arranged three animals on each card using Stampin’ Up Dimensionals. Then I pulled the strings slightly taut and taped to the panel. (This tape will be covered soon).
On one card, I laid a strip of adhesive cork across the strings and placed a hand-lettered, black label on top. I used a White Posca Paint Pen for the lettering. On the second card, I used coordinating washi tape across the strings and then cut and stamped two oval layers and adhered on top. I used Mama Elephant Mini Messages for the sentiment.
I cut the strings on off at the bottom, allowing about an inch and a half to dangle off the edge and then finished the card off with some colored sequins.
Have a great day!
