Hello Friends 🙂
I realize we’re into Autumn now and nearing the holidays, but I can’t resist a pretty Spring/Summer floral, especially the one in this month’s Simon Says Stamp Monthly Kit! (This kit has sold out, but the items are available individually). It did come with some pretty Autumn-colored foils, but we’ll include those in another post.
Today, we’re using Simon Says Stamp Sketched Flowers Set and Arteza Watercolors. This stamp set is awesome! The cards below are used with the same stamp, but they look different from each other, don’t they?
First, you’ll need watercolor paper cut to 5″ x 3/75″. My favorite is Fabriano’s Cold Press Paper. The second layer is coordinating cardstock of your choice cut to 5.25″ x 4.” I needed to fill a request for sympathy cards, so those are the sentiments I used today and are from the same stamp set we are using.
This first card was heat-embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. Then it was loosely painted using Arteza’s Premium Watercolor Palette. You can use grey cardstock for the second panel and the sentiment, which was also embossed with the same powder. You can add some dew drops with Nuvo’s Morning Dew Crystal Drops.
The next card was heat-embossed with WOW’s Aladdin Embossing Powder, then painted with Arteza’s Watercolor Pencils; first “coloring” in the image and then brushing with a water brush. The sentiment was embossed with Wow’s Black Embossing Powder and then layered with Midnight Cardstock. I also added some Nuvo Black Crystal Drops.
The last card was heat embossed with Wow’s Platinum Embossing Powder (and so was the sentiment) and then loosely watercolored in the same manner as the first card. I also added some paint-splattering which can be accomplished by flicking a wet, paint-tipped paintbrush onto the panel.
These cards were a lot of fun to create! They are even prettier in person 🙂
Have a great day!
