This little card caught me by surprise. In a good way, of course. I had a completely different card in mind, but this is what came out! Has this ever happened to you? Kind of a fun surprise 🙂
First I inked a white card panel with Tim Holtz Salty Ocean and Evergreen Bough Oxide Inks with a Ranger’s Blending Tools.
On a separate white card panel, I stamped images from Avery Elle Hand Drawn Florals stamp set with Ranger Ink Jet Black Archival Ink Pad in no particular pattern, since these would be cut out later. I painted the images with Prima’s Watercolor Palettes in Odyssey and The Classics. Since I didn’t use watercolor paper in this instance, I was happily surprised to see them curl up a bit. I was going to secure them flat on the blended card panel, but when I saw them curl, I had another idea. After cutting my images out, I used dimensional foam adhesive to adhere them to my blended card, allowing the pieces to pop up. Avery Elle also has a set of dies for this set (see below).
I used Avery Elle Banner Bits Stamps and Die to create the sentiment. I filled the flower centers and placed random dots with Rangers Black Enamel Accents. And finally, I mounted the completed panel on to my black-on-white card base.
Have a great day!
