This turned out to be a surprisingly quick little card. Once again, my little tip for today — if you’d like to improve your lettering and doodling skills — go visit Peggy Dean at The Pigeon Letters. She’s awesome! Peggy has some great learning resources on her website. She wrote the bestselling books, Botanical Line Drawing, The Ultimate Brush Lettering Guide and Lettering in the Whimsical Woodlands (releasing November 7, 2017).
On EK Success Paper, I lettered with a Speedball Signature Calligraphy Pen using Dr. Ph. Martin’s Iridescent Copper Plate Gold Ink. I colored the florals and leaves with Kuretake Metallic Fudebiyori Brush Pens.
I highlighted some of the foliage and added little white stars using the calligraphy pen and Speedball’s White Acrylic Ink and then added little specks of gold with Ranger’s Gold Perfect Pearls.
I highlighted the photo to show the detail, but the paper is actually a nice, dark and intense hue, accenting the inks used.
Have a great day!
